No Willtell, I in fact think a good manager makes any team better, agood manager can turn a bad team into an average one, an average one into a good one and a good one into a great one.

Last season we were unlucky with injuries and had an average squad. Still we should never have been in a relegation scrap for as long as we were.
And that has a lot to do with how positive or negative your approach is when setting up an even average team...

You don't suppose a manager is as good as the players he coaches do you...?

Yeah but if we finish top 8 this season and perform like that for the majority of it he is a shoo-in for a new contract.

Re: Sam Allardyce - The Elephant in the Room
I just wonder. Why did the owners have to specifically ask Allardyce to deliver better football if he had that in him all along ?

Surely if Allardyce was as good a manager as he claims he is, he should have played much better football last season, even with a weaker squad.

Admittedly he has much better players available now.
But even with an average team he could have set up the team in a more positive fashion last season.

So how much of this football is down to Allardyce and how much is down to the owners and the new signings ?

If we continue to play the way we are around xmas I'd be sitting him down and offering him a new deal.

I don't think he's actually in charge anymore.

The anti-Sam brigade, of which I am one is an anti anti-football brigade actually.

If Sullivan keeps delivering players like this and Sam delivers performances like that then I have no problem with him being our manager

MASSIVE respect to Sam for the result today. He won't get much credit on here, but so far this season he's been asked to provide a higher standard of football and not only is he delivering, he's also starting to get some results too.

Very, very chuffed.

Re: Sam Allardyce - The Elephant in the Room
Don't care if he stays or goes if we are playing better football. So if we can play some half decent stuff and have the guarantee of not being relegated I'm fine with that.
Everything that is anti BFS has come from how we have been playing.

Nonsense!

Everyone gets 38 matches each.

"There are even some numties on this site who would have Pardew back! "

I'd have Roeder back if it meant we could get rid of this dinosaur, football-killing cunt.

Unless of course he completely changes and forgets everything he's ever said and done in football.

We only stayed up last year because of Norwich's last four matches were against the big 4

If that house purchase in Chingford is true, sounds like the two Daves have told him " Keep us up with a bit more flair, and you will get a contract extension."

Houses valued at 2.5 million in Chingford have 7or 8 bedrooms and back on to a golf course. Can't be bad for a loudmouth yob from Dudley.

If he keeps us up by the skin of our teeth again by having us play in his usual manner AND gets a new contract then the berks are seriously taking the paying supporters as idiots & exploiting the emotional ties with Upton park & the new hope of glory at the OS.

It wouldn't surprise me though as they are a cynical pair of cunts. i remember sullivan crying on the radio when they got confirmation of the takeover. He must've had a freshly chopped spanish onion to hand. gold was smiling and winking at Scott Duxbury during the first press conference telling everyone present what a great job he'd done & then getting rid of him within two months AND also I heard sullivan spouting on the radio how the move to the OS would turn WHU into a half a billion worth ongoing concern. They're only in it for the money, the pair of greedy old cunts.

I think he's done very well for & also make him right on our "Deluded fans"

If he starts playing more attractive football (as we played against Hull) I'd be happy to see him stay for a few more seasons

It's quite incredible how fickle football fans can be

There are even some numties on this site who would have Pardew back!
